Eco Lingo – “Rain Garden”

A “rain garden” is a unique way to not only go green, but also to beautify your yard. A rain garden is a depression in the ground that collects rainwater that runs off of the surrounding area such as your roof or driveway. Rain gardens help reduce the amount of runoff from your property by collecting the water and allowing it to soak into the ground instead of into storm drains.

The Eco Lingo for today is “Renewable Energy”

Renewable energy is any energy that is created from natural means like the sun, wind, earth, and water. These sources of energy are naturally replenished, hence the “renewable”. Using renewable energy sources for power is great because they do not produce greenhouse gases like when you use oil and coal.
